Install with Docker

Start a TeselaDB node in Docker with TLS, users and the data in a volume.

Start TeselaDB in Docker in secure mode, with TLS and users. The data goes to a volume that outlives the container.

Requirements

  • Docker on the machine.
  • The image version, the one in Download.

Start the container

Shell
docker run -d --name teseladb -p 27017:27017 -v teseladb-data:/data \
  teseladb/teseladb:<version> start --dbpath /data --bind_ip 0.0.0.0

The first start creates in the volume the certificate authority of the cluster and the root user, as outside Docker.

Get the password and the CA

Shell
docker exec teseladb cat /data/root-credentials.txt
docker cp teseladb:/data/pki/ca.pem ./ca.pem

Check

When the node is ready, docker logs teseladb shows its ready line with the identifier of the node and of the cluster.

Common problems

  • The node does not answer from your machine because --bind_ip 0.0.0.0 is missing: inside the container, the node listens only on 127.0.0.1 by default.
