Development questions
What people who program against TeselaDB usually ask about code, transactions, search and HTTP.
Do I have to change my application code?
Usually you only change the connection string so it points to TeselaDB with TLS. Read Adapt your
application in case your code depends on a difference from MongoDB, such as the
order of a find without sort.
Do transactions work across collections and ranges?
Yes. A multi-document transaction can touch any collection and any range, with snapshot isolation. Transactions explains it.
Does a search see what I have just written?
Yes. $search sees every write confirmed before it starts, so you do not have to wait for the index to catch up. The
details are in Search indexes.
Is a unique index unique across the cluster?
Yes, also in a collection with a shard key and without the shard key as a prefix. _id is also unique across the
cluster.
Can I use change streams?
Yes, with MongoDB's semantics: you open a stream with watch, filter it with a pipeline and resume it with its token.
Start with Change streams.
Can I use HTTP instead of a driver?
Yes. Each node serves a REST API at /v1 and an MCP server at /mcp, on port 27080, with its OpenAPI document. Try
REST API first steps.
